ABOUT

Art of the Bayou is a documentary project by and about emerging South Louisiana artists. Currently in production, the project uses inter-disciplinary and experimental art to explore the past, present, and future of South Louisiana.

The goal of this project is to showcase local artists, promote cultural tourism, and give the world yet another reason why South Louisiana is worth protecting.

A project of the Houma Regional Arts Council, we are supported by an Artworks grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Community Partnership Grant from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, and a grant from the Houma Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau‘, which is administered by the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government. Walter Williams is donating his time as technical advisor to the project.

Production of artist profiles about local artists and experimental-documentary shorts about South Louisiana are currently underway! Andrea Dupree is executive producer and creative director of the project.
